It was a strong night for CBS’ Tuesday shows, which held to their premiere ratings fairly well in their second weeks.
Pending updates, both “NCIS” (1.4) and “NCIS: New Orleans” (1.0) were even with their season premieres from a week ago, while “FBI” only fell one-tenth from the 1.3 its series debut scored to a 1.2 rating in the adults 18-49 demo this week.
It was a similar story with NBC’s “New Amsterdam,” which experienced a survivable two-tenth drop from a 1.8 to a 1.6. “This is Us” took a predictable second week hit as well, dipping from its premiere’s 3.0 to a 2.4 this time around. “The Voice” (1.8) also fell four-tenths with its second Tuesday night broadcast of the new season.
Meanwhile, ABC’s “Dancing with the Stars” stayed low with a 0.8 average, down a tenth week-to-week. An encore broadcast of the “A Million Little Things” pilot rounded out the night for the network at the 10 p.m. hour, and scored the same 0.5 that a new “20/20” did in the time slot last week.
On FOX, “The Gifted” fell two-tenths from its premiere’s 0.9 to a 0.7, tying its previous series low, while “Lethal Weapon” actually built off its “Gifted” lead-in and scored the same 0.8 rating as its premiere, with 3.16 million viewers. The CW’s “The Outpost” (0.1) closed out a quiet first season, down from its 0.2 last Tuesday, but even with its overall season average.

Time Shifted Viewing: Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data – Live, Live +Same-Day and Live +7 Day. Time-shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs. Live+SD includes viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3 a.m. local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing. Live +7 ratings include viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast.
