“The Flash” premiered in fairly steady fashion Tuesday night.

The CW superhero series kicked off its sixth season with a 0.6 rating in adults 18-49 and 1.63 million viewers, steady with its 2018-19 season averages. A rerun of the “Batwoman” pilot followed it with a 0.3 and 1.11 million viewers.

Elsewhere, NBC’s “The Voice” (1.5) and “This is Us” (1.6) remained the night’s highest-rated shows, but were down a tenth from their ratings a week ago. “New Amsterdam,” meanwhile, stayed on top of the 10 p.m. hour with the same 0.8 as its last outing.

Similar to “The Voice” and “This is Us,” FOX’s “Empire” slipped yet another tenth, ticking down from its 0.9 rating last week to a 0.8 with 2.87 million viewers this time around. “The Resident,” however, managed to hold steady with a 0.7 for the second week in a row.

ABC’s “The Conners” (1.1) fell one-tenth from its episode last Tuesday, as did “Emergence” (0.5). Pending updates, “Bless This Mess” actually went the other way, ticking up from a 0.7 to a 0.8. “mixed-ish” (0.7) and “black-ish” (0.7) rounded out the night for ABC, steady with their last episodes.

On CBS, “NCIS” slipped from its previous 1.3 rating to a 1.1 this week, but still easily raked in the night’s largest total audience (10.98 million viewers). “FBI” (0.8) also fell two-tenths week-to-week, while “NCIS: New Orleans” (0.7) stayed even with its last episode.

Definitions:

Rating: Estimated percentage of the universe of TV households (or other specified group) tuned to a program in the average minute. Ratings are expressed as a percent.
Fast Affiliate Ratings: These first national ratings are available at approximately 11 a.m. ET the day after telecast. The figures may include stations that did not air the entire network feed, as well as local news breaks or cutaways for local coverage or other programming. Fast Affiliate ratings are not as useful for live programs and are likely to differ significantly from the final results, because the data reflect normal broadcast feed patterns.
Share (of Audience):
The percent of households (or persons) using television who are tuned to a specific program, station or network in a specific area at a specific time.
Time Shifted Viewing:
Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data – Live, Live +Same-Day and Live +7 Day. Time-shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs. Live+SD includes viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3 a.m. local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing. Live +7 ratings include  viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast.
