Masked Scheduler's Ratings Smackdown

I’m going to make this simple. If you catch lightning in a bottle with "This Is Us" and you are not developing programs that will benefit from this show as a lead-in, even in this more fluid environment ...
To go from "TIU" to "The Menendez Murders" is, in my opinion, a missed opportunity. ABC seems to have read the memo. Let’s see if their other feel-good show works.
Two nights with a 1.0 lead-in at 10 p.m. for CBS affils, but given their audience profile, they are still feeding in the largest audience to local late news.
FOX continues to have a circulation problem. Every show on the other nets had no problem cracking 6 million viewers, while "Lethal Weapon" was a bit above 4 million and the comedies dropped under 3 million. That's a big problem.

“This Is Us” opened its second season with its highest-rated episode ever, leading Tuesday’s ratings by wide margins.

The NBC show earned a 3.8 rating in adults 18-49,  topping its previous best of 3.4 for the Season 1 finale Its 12.64 million viewers is just shy of the 12.84 million for the first-season finale. It carried NBC to a sizable win in the 18-49 demographic Tuesday night.

“The Voice” posted a 2.6 for NBC, even with Monday’s premiere but down 23.5 percent from the 3.4 for last fall’s Tuesday opener (it was even with the spring Tuesday premiere). “Law & Order True Crime: The Menendez Murders” drew a 1.7, in line with the 1.8 for “Chicago Fire’s” premiere in the slot last season.

The news wasn’t so good elsewhere, as returning shows all opened lower on CBS and FOX. “NCIS” (1.6), “Bull” (1.2) and “NCIS: New Orleans” (1.0) were all at least 0.4 below last season’s premieres and slightly behind their season averages for CBS.

At FOX, “Lethal Weapon” (1.2) was 0.4 behind its Season 1 rating (and 50% below its series debut on Wednesday last season). “The Mick” (0.9) was two tenths below last season’s average, while “Brooklyn Nine-Nine’s” 0.8 was on par with its 2016-17 average.

“Celebrity Family Feud” scored a 1.3 for ABC, up from 1.1 for Sunday’s episode. “Dancing With the Stars” hit a series low 1.2.

Definitions:
Rating
: Estimated percentage of the universe of TV households (or other specified group) tuned to a program in the average minute. Ratings are expressed as a percent.
Fast Affiliate Ratings: These first national ratings are available at approximately 11 a.m. ET the day after telecast. The figures may include stations that did not air the entire network feed, as well as local news breaks or cutaways for local coverage or other programming. Fast Affiliate ratings are not as useful for live programs and are likely to differ significantly from the final results, because the data reflect normal broadcast feed patterns.
Share (of Audience):
The percent of households (or persons) using television who are tuned to a specific program, station or network in a specific area at a specific time.
Time Shifted Viewing:
Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data – Live, Live +Same-Day and Live +7 Day. Time-shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs. Live+SD includes viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3 a.m. local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing. Live +7 ratings include  viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast.
