FOX rose to the top of the primetime ratings Wednesday night, thanks to the series premiere of “BH90210.”
The premiere of the new revival series won the night with a 1.5 rating in adults 18-49, beating any of the night’s other broadcasts in the demo and making it the highest-rated series premiere of the summer. It is also FOX’s highest-rated summer telecast (excluding sports) since Sept. 2016, despite its 3.84 million viewer audience making it only the night’s second-most-watched broadcast. Additionally, “MasterChef” benefitted from its “BH90210” lead-out, rising from a 0.8 to a 0.9, tying its previous season high.
Elsewhere, CBS’ “Love Island” wrapped up its first season with a 0.5, matching its rating from a week ago and its overall season average. Assuming the finale’s 2.63 million viewers holds or improves in the finals later today too, it’ll be the show’s largest linear audience to date.
Following the “Love Island” finale, “Big Brother” scored the same 1.1 rating that it did last Wednesday, and led the night in total viewers (3.93 million). NBC’s “The InBetween” (0.4) also held steady with its last outing.
On ABC, “Press Your Luck” raked in a 0.6 and 3.58 million viewers, even with its previous episode. Both “Card Sharks” (0.5) and “Match Game” (0.5) stayed steady week-to-week as well.
Meanwhile, it was a night of premieres for the CW, starting with the debut of “Bulletproof” at 8 p.m., which scored a 0.2 rating with 803,000 viewers. It performed on par with other summer CW premieres in recent years, as did the series premiere of “Hypnotize Me” (0.1, 564,000).

Rating: Estimated percentage of the universe of TV households (or other specified group) tuned to a program in the average minute. Ratings are expressed as a percent.
Fast Affiliate Ratings: These first national ratings are available at approximately 11 a.m. ET the day after telecast. The figures may include stations that did not air the entire network feed, as well as local news breaks or cutaways for local coverage or other programming. Fast Affiliate ratings are not as useful for live programs and are likely to differ significantly from the final results, because the data reflect normal broadcast feed patterns.
Share (of Audience): The percent of households (or persons) using television who are tuned to a specific program, station or network in a specific area at a specific time.
Time Shifted Viewing: Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data – Live, Live +Same-Day and Live +7 Day. Time-shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs. Live+SD includes viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3 a.m. local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing. Live +7 ratings include viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast.
