Three days after its predictably highly-rated post-Super Bowl premiere, CBS’ “The World’s Best” debuted in its regular time slot Wednesday night – to lackluster results.

The James Corden-hosted series posted a 1.0 rating in adults 18-49 with 5.56 million viewers, which was not only obviously down from the show’s post-Super Bowl premiere’s 7.0 and 22.2 million viewers, but also lower in the demo than any of the night’s other unscripted programs. The season finale of “Criminal Minds” (0.8) rounded out CBS’ night, even with its last episode.

Meanwhile, FOX’s “The Masked Singer” led the night yet again, despite falling from its previous 2.6 to a 2.2 this week. Its lead-in, “Gordon Ramsay’s 24 Hours to Hell and Back” similarly slipped back down from a 1.2 to a 1.1.

Elsewhere, it was another solid night for NBC, starting with “Chicago Med” at 8 p.m., which was not only the night’s most-watched broadcast with 9.33 million viewers, but also rose one-tenth to a season high 1.4. “Chicago Fire” (1.3) and “Chicago P.D.” (1.2) followed, with each ticking up a tenth from their last episodes as well.

On the CW, “Riverdale” fell a tenth to a season low 0.3, but “All American” stayed steady with another 0.2. ABC took the night off.

Definitions:

Rating: Estimated percentage of the universe of TV households (or other specified group) tuned to a program in the average minute. Ratings are expressed as a percent.
Fast Affiliate Ratings: These first national ratings are available at approximately 11 a.m. ET the day after telecast. The figures may include stations that did not air the entire network feed, as well as local news breaks or cutaways for local coverage or other programming. Fast Affiliate ratings are not as useful for live programs and are likely to differ significantly from the final results, because the data reflect normal broadcast feed patterns.
Share (of Audience):
The percent of households (or persons) using television who are tuned to a specific program, station or network in a specific area at a specific time.
Time Shifted Viewing:
Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data – Live, Live +Same-Day and Live +7 Day. Time-shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs. Live+SD includes viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3 a.m. local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing. Live +7 ratings include  viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast.
