In the same-day ratings for the week of Jan. 2-8, the Golden Globe Awards finished two points ahead of “The Big Bang Theory” in adults 18-49. With three days of DVR and on-demand viewing added, that gap is considerably smaller.

That’s not much of a surprise: “The Big Bang Theory” is among the biggest DVR gainers on broadcast TV, and live events like the Globes don’t tend to grow much with delayed viewing. But it’s a good illustration of both points.

In total viewers, “Big Bang” (20.87 million) passed the Golden Globes (20.65 million). Both are well behind the week’s leader, NBC’s NFL wild-card game (8.4 in adults 18-49, 27 million viewers).
