I noted earlier, that the broadcast networks have chosen “cheap” as their mantra for Summer 2011, not scheduling any US produced scripted shows (except holdover reject from the 2010-11 season), and filling up on reality and cheap Canadian imports.

Not that this summer’s likely to be much different than the last for many viewers no matter what the broadcasters do, how are you likely to spend your summer viewing?

In the weeks ahead, I’ll be pursuing a two pronged Netflix plan, (1) gulping down as much of the early seasons of Top Gear as I have time for via streaming, and (2) finally watching The Wire, which I discovered after it began and didn’t want to enter mid-stream, on DVD.
