“Nightline” Wins Monday — Besting “Letterman” and “Leno”

Among Total Viewers, A25-54, and A18-49 According to Fast Affiliates

ABC News “Nightline” outperformed both CBS’ “Late Show with David Letterman” and NBC’s “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno” last night, Monday March 22, 2010 according to Nielsen fast affiliate time period data. “Nightline” averaged an audience of 4.869 million Total Viewers, while “Letterman” averaged 4.116 million and “Leno” averaged 4.187 million. Among A25-54, “Nightline” posted 2,171,000 million, besting “Letterman’s” 2,012,000 million and “Leno’s” 1,875,000 million. Among A18-49, “Nightline” posted 1,840,000 million, again besting “Letterman’s” 1,622,000 million and “Leno’s” 1,522,000 million.

Last night’s program featured a report by Terry Moran on the winners and losers on both sides of the healthcare debate, more on Diane Sawyer’s exclusive interview with Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi and a report by Vicki Mabrey on the ineffectiveness of restraining orders to stop violent offenders.
