UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. – December 16, 2010 – The December 11 edition of “Saturday Night Live” has set season highs for the show in adult 18-49 rating and total viewers.
According to “live plus same day” data from Nielsen Media Research, the December 11 telecast, hosted by Paul Rudd with musical guest Paul McCartney, dominated its time period with a 2.7 rating, 11 share in adults 18-49 and 7.6 million viewers overall.
The 2.7 rating for “Saturday Night Live” is the show’s highest since May 15 with last season’s finale, hosted by Alec Baldwin and featuring musical guest Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. Last week’s 7.6 million viewers overall is the highest for “SNL” in total viewers since the May 8 edition hosted by Betty White with musical guest Jay-Z.
Last weekend’s telecast of “Saturday Night Live” delivered the #1 result of the night in adults 18-49 and total viewers over all primetime telecasts on ABC, CBS, NBC or Fox. In fact, in 18-49, “SNL” outscored every Saturday non-sports primetime telecast on every major English-language network since March 8, 2008.
