ABC has given a straight-to-series order to “Ten Days in the Valley,” the drama series that was shopped around with Demi Moore attached — and now will star Kyra Sedgwick.

The network has ordered 10 hourlong episodes. No premiere date has been set, and the project won’t head into production until 2017.

“Ten Days in the Valley” hails from “Rookie Blue” co-creator Tassie Cameron, and is produced by Skydance Television. Sedgwick is also on board to executive produce.

The series follows Jane Sadler (Sedgwick), an overworked television producer and single mother in the middle of a separation, whose life is turned upside down when her young daughter goes missing in the middle of the night. Just like her controversial police TV show, everything is a mystery, everyone has a secret, and no one can be trusted.

The show was originally developed with Moore attached, and was shopped around to networks beginning in February. Moore opted not to go forth with the project.

The drama is Sedgwick’s first series regular role following TNT’s “The Closer,” which wrapped in 2012 after seven seasons. Since then, the Golden Globe and Emmy winner has recurred on “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” and has had various film roles.

“Playing Jane Sadler is exactly the deep and emotionally charged role I was searching for in a series,” Sedgwick says in a statement. “I look forward to working with the team at Skydance, who have continuously created exceptional film and TV projects. We are all very excited that ‘Ten Days in the Valley’ has found its home on ABC.”

For ABC, the project falls into the network’s new regime of including more procedural dramas. It marks the second straight-to-series order at the net for the 2016-17 season, following Kiefer Sutherland’s “Designated Survivor,” which premieres this fall.

ABC’s new president Channing Dungey says, “‘Ten Days in the Valley’ has everything: It’s a thriller, it’s a taut, exciting love story, and it has the kind of character our audience loves — a strong, powerful woman who is also dangerously flawed. We’re thrilled to have the amazing Kyra Sedgwick play this compelling role.”
