Zach Braff’s return to television has come to a quick end.

ABC has canceled the Braff-led comedy series “Alex, Inc.,” the news of which comes just a few days before the series is set to air its Season 1 — now series — finale. In case that wasn’t enough, “Alex, Inc.’s” cancellation also comes just one hour after the network also canceled both “Designated Survivor” and “Quantico.”

The news of the show’s cancellation doesn’t come as much of a surprise since, despite boasting a TV veteran like Braff as its star, “Alex, Inc.” never managed to make much of a splash, ratings-wise. After averaging a low 3.44 million viewers throughout its first season with a 0.85 average Live + Same Day rating in the adults 18-49 demographic, the chances of the show getting renewed for a second season had become extremely low.

More ABC cancellations:

– The Marvel superhero series, “Inhumans,” has also been canceled by the network. The “Agents of SHIELD” spin-off only averaged a 0.6 rating in adults 18-49 with 2.56 million viewers.

– “Deception” has been canceled as well, just ahead of its first season finale next week. The magic-based procedural has averaged a 0.8 in adults 18-49 throughout its freshman season.

– After finishing off its first season back in March, the Jason Ritter-led “Kevin (Probably) Saves The World” has met a similarly quick end on the network. It averaged a similar 0.7 rating in adults 18-49 as some of its other freshman cancellations on the network.

– Rounding out the network’s freshman cancellations this afternoon is “The Crossing.” The thriller series starring Steve Zahn is only about halfway through its first season, and has averaged a 0.7 rating in adults 18-49 with 4.22 million viewers.
