FOX has ordered a second season of its competition series “American Grit.”
The show, hosted by WWE star John Cena (who’s also an executive producer), wrapped its first season in June. It averaged a 0.7 same-day rating in adults 18-49 and just under 2 million viewers.
Those aren’t great numbers, but the show did remain fairly consistent throughout its run. It premiered to a 0.8 in the 18-49 demo in April, and aside from one 0.5-rated episode in late May never went below a 0.6.
The show brings together 16 contestants for a series of military-inspired physical and survival challenges. Cena and a group of mentors watch over and provide guidance during the competition.
