Starz has picked up a second season of its new series “Ash vs. Evil Dead” — three days ahead of its series premiere on Saturday.

That’s pretty much standard operating procedure for Starz, which has pre-ordered a second season of several of its originals before or just after their series debuts. It’s done the same for “Black Sails,” “Power” and “Survivor’s Remorse,” and it gave “Blunt Talk” a two-season order at the outset.

“Ash vs. Evil Dead” stars Bruce Campbell as Ash Williams, continuing the story from the series of “Evil Dead” films. Lucy Lawless also stars.

“One season isn’t enough to satisfy the fans’ two decade-long appetite for more Ash,” Starz managing director Carmi Zlotnik says in a statement. “The early fan and press support, along with the international broadcaster demand for more story have made it clear that the adventures of Ash Williams can’t end with Season 1.”

Starz has sold “Ash vs. Evil Dead” in more than 100 countries and territories across the world, most of which will premiere the show at the same time as its U.S. debut on Saturday.
