“Bless the Harts” will be back next year.
FOX has renewed the freshman animated comedy for a second season today. It is officially the first rookie series of the 2019-20 season to be picked up for a sophomore run.
Created by Emily Spivey, “Bless the Harts” follows a group of Southerners as they strive to live the American dream. Its voice cast includes Kristen Wiig, Maya Rudolph, Jillian Bell, Ike Barinholtz, Fortune Feimster, Kumail Nanjiani, and more.
“‘Bless the Harts’ is an incredibly sharp, yet sweet, series that complements the FOX Animation Domination block perfectly,” said FOX Entertainment President, Michael Thorn. “It simply doesn’t get much better than having a comedy anchored by talent like Kristen Wiig, Maya Rudolph, Ike Barinholtz, Jillian Bell and Kumail Nanjiani.”
“We want to thank creator and executive producer Emily Spivey, whose unique voice and personal experience brought this family to life, as well as executive producers Phil Lord and Chris Miller, and our partners at 20th Century Fox Television. We are thrilled to watch the Hart family experience more adventures, mishaps and boxed wine for another amazing season.”
Just a few weeks into its run, the series hasn’t been much of a strong performer for FOX in the live + same day ratings, averaging only a 0.8 rating among adults 18-49 with 2.09 million viewers.
New episodes of “Bless the Harts” air Sunday nights on FOX.
