Just a few weeks after Netflix handed out a 2-season renewal to “Disenchanted,” the streaming platform has guaranteed the return of another one of its animated adult comedies next year.
Announced this afternoon, Netflix has officially renewed “BoJack Horseman” for a sixth season. The news of which comes over a month after the beloved comedy premiered its fifth season on the platform, to universally rave reviews.
Created by Raphael Bob-Waksberg, “BoJack Horseman” follows the washed up star of a hit TV show from the ’90s, as he continues to live in Hollywood and complain about everything, all while accompanied by his human sidekick, Todd, and feline agent, Carolyn. It stars Will Arnett in the titular role, alongside Aaron Paul, Amy Sedaris, Alison Brie, Paul F. Tompkins, and more. It is executive produced by Bob-Waksberg, Steven A. Cohen, Noel Bright, Arnett, and Paul.
Despite the fact that Netflix (like all other streaming platforms), does not publicly release the viewership numbers or statistics for any of its original series, the renewal of “BoJack Horsman” comes as no surprise. The veteran comedy is one of the platform’s most critically acclaimed shows, and has amassed a dedicated fan following throughout its first five seasons.
“BoJack Horseman” is available to stream in its entirety on Netflix now.
