Viewers will get to see Paige Townsen’s troublesome adventures in stardom continued for another season.
Freeform announced Thursday that freshman series “Famous in Love” has officially been renewed for a second season on the network. The series, which comes from “Pretty Little Liars” creator I. Marlene King, released its first season earlier this year with a binge-viewing pattern on the network’s digital platforms and raked in the strongest start for a show in Freeform’s history. It is also, currently, the network’s No. 1 original series among women 18-34.
Starring Bella Thorne, “Famous in Love” follows college student Paige when she becomes a breakout Hollywood star, after auditioning for the lead role in a major blockbuster film. Overwhelmed by all her new success and the attention that comes with it, Paige struggles to navigate through her new life and come to terms with the undeniable chemistry she shares with her two co-leads.
“We’re so proud to be continuing our relationship with Marlene King and this incredibly talented cast,” said Karey Burke, executive vice president of programming and development at Freeform. “‘Famous in Love’ has resonated with nearly 30 million fans across the U.S. and we couldn’t be happier to deliver another season of this addictive series.”
King added, “It’s great to know we are just getting started on this wild and fun Hollywood ride called ‘Famous in Love.’ I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to dive deeper into the world and characters we fell in love with last season.”
The renewal of “Famous in Love” keeps the show on Freeform’s growing lineup of original programs, which also includes “The Bold Type,” “Beyond,” “The Fosters,” “Shadowhunters,” “Stitchers,” and next year’s highly-anticipated “Marvel’s Cloak & Dagger,”
