FOX’s first new series of 2016-17 is probably going to feel familiar to a lot of viewers — and that’s entirely by design.

The network’s take on “Lethal Weapon” premieres at 8 p.m. ET/PT Wednesday, with Clayne Crawford (“Rectify”) and Damon Wayans Jr. playing LAPD detectives Riggs and Murtaugh — roles made famous by Mel Gibson and Danny Glover in four “Lethal Weapon” movies.

FOX (and, to be fair, every other broadcast network this season) is betting on name recognition of the title and premise helping the reboot draw viewers. Its pre-“Empire” timeslot shouldn’t hurt either; that hour was pretty good to “Rosewood” last fall.

How do you think “Lethal Weapon” will do? Vote below.
