“Secrets and Lies” was a pleasant surprise for ABC in 2014-15.

The serialized mystery premiered late that season after “Resurrection” ended and premiered to decent ratings (1.5 in adults 18-49). Though it dipped some midway through its run, the show ended above where it began, scoring a 1.8 for its finale. For the season it averaged a 1.5 same-day rating in the 18-49 demographic and 5.66 million viewers.

The network renewed the series — and then left it off the schedule for the entirety of 2015-16. It’s finally back for Season 2 at 9 p.m. ET/PT Sunday, more than 16 months after its previous episode.

The good news is that “Secrets and Lies” takes on a new case with a mostly fresh cast in Season 2 — Juliette Lewis, as Detective Andrea Cornell, is the only returning regular. So it’s not asking the audience to remember a mountain of details from the previous series. The new case revolves around the death of a woman (Jordana Brewster), with her husband (Michael Ealy) as Cornell’s No. 1 suspect. Terry O’Quinn, Mekia Cox and Kenny Johnson also star.

But 16 months is an unusually long time off for a broadcast show. Will audiences who enjoyed Season 1 come back for Season 2 (and stick around long enough to get to know the new characters)? Can the promise of a mostly clean slate draw in any new viewers?

Vote below on how you think “Secrets and Lies” will perform this season.
