FOX will let Bruce Wayne grow up a little bit more next season.
The network has renewed “Gotham” for a third season in 2016-17. The show has been one of FOX’s steadier performers this season, averaging a 1.5 same-day rating in adults 18-49. It rises to 2.7 in Live +7.
“It takes a very special team to tell the tales of ‘Gotham.’ For the past two seasons, Bruno [Heller], Danny [Cannon] and John [Stephens] have masterfully honored the mythology of ‘Gotham’ and brought it to life with depth, emotion and memorable high drama,” FOX Entertainment president David Madden says in a statement. “This incredibly talented cast has redefined these iconic characters for a new generation, and we couldn’t be more proud of this show.”
“Gotham” is the sixth FOX series to be renewed for 2016-17, joining “Empire,” “Bones,” “Scream Queens,” “Bob’s Burgers” and “The Simpsons.” It also joins these shows that are returning next season.
