“Last Man Standing” is a little bit late to the ABC renewal party, but it’s invited nonetheless.

The network has picked up a sixth season of the veteran comedy, which stars Tim Allen and Nancy Travis. ABC renewed several shows on Thursday, but “Last Man Standing” wasn’t included, partly because negotiations with producer 20th Century Fox TV weren’t quite done.

The series averaged a 1.2 same-day rating in adults 18-49 this season and regularly led its 8 p.m. Friday timeslot. It grew to a 1.8 in Live +7.

The show was the only ABC veteran awaiting word on a renewal after Thursday. The network will bring back 20 shows (16 scripted and four unscripted) in 2016-17 and has ordered nine new shows thus far.

“Last Man Standing” joins these shows in returning for next season.
