Spike TV has picked up a third season of its breakout series “Lip Sync Battle.”

The show began its second season on Jan. 7 with its best ratings ever, scoring a 1.4 same-day rating in adults 18-49. Episode 2 stayed pretty healthy with a 1.0. With multiple airings and delayed viewing added, Spike says the show draws a 3.1 rating in adults 18-49 and 4.4 million viewers.

Over its first season and change, the show has become the most-watched original series Spike has ever aired.

“‘Lip Sync Battle’ is a multiplatform pop-culture phenomenon that has played an integral role in delivering a new and broader audience to Spike,” Kevin Kay, the channel’s president, says in a statement.

Season 3 will have 20 half-hour episodes, with taping scheduled to begin later in 2016. A premiere date hasn’t been set.

“Lip Sync Battle” joins these shows that have been renewed for 2016 and beyond.
