The Debra Messing-led drama “The Mysteries of Laura” has officially been canceled by NBC, the network announced Saturday.
Despite being critically panned throughout its run, the series produced solid numbers for the network throughout its two seasons, but it looks like the numbers weren’t enough to secure it a place in the 2016-17 schedule. The series hailed from Greg Berlanti and Aaron Kaplan.
Following this news, but the series order for CW’s “Riverdale,” Berlanti now enters into the new season with six series under his belt, making up for the “Mysteries” cancellation. Meanwhile, Kaplan recently received a renewal for “Life in Pieces” on CBS, with ABC also putting in a series order for “The Second Fattest Wife in Westport.”
