“Outcast,” the Cinemax series based on “Walking Dead” creator Robert Kirkman’s comic, has a premiere date. Oh, and it’s also getting a second season before the first one airs.
Cinemax made the announcement Monday at the SXSW Festival in Austin. The show will premiere June 3 on Cinemax and is picked up for Season 2 as well.
The series stars Patrick Fugit as Kyle Barnes, who has struggled with demonic possession for much of his life. He enlists the help of an evangelist (Philip Glenister) to seek answers to his problem, which naturally leads to bigger conflicts.
Kirkman is executive producing along with showrunner Chris Black. Adam Wingard (“The Guest”) directed the pilot.
