Starz is nowhere near ready to close the book on “Outlander.”
The cable channel announced Wednesday that it’s renewing the series for two more seasons, taking it through a sixth run. Starz also set a November premiere date for Season 4 of “Outlander.”
“Fans can rest assured their beloved Claire [Caitriona Balfe] and Jamie [Sam Heughan] will be back facing new challenges, adversaries and adventures in seasons five and six as we delve into American history and continue the story of the Frasers as they settle in the New World,” Starz CEO Chris Albrecht says in a statement.
Season 3 of “Outlander” pulled in the show’s best ratings to date, averaging a 0.3 rating among adults 18-49 (vs. 0.2 the previous season) and 1.51 million viewers (up from 1.09 million) for episode debuts. It typically doubled its 18-49 rating and moved past 2 million viewers after a week of delayed viewing.
Episode 6 of last season set series highs in both the 18-49 demo (0.4) and viewers (1.72 million).
“Outlander” joins these shows that have been renewed for 2018-19 and beyond.
