NBC has officially put in series orders for the DC Comics comedy “Powerless” and the John Lithgow-led  “Trial & Error,” the network announced Wednesday.

“Powerless” stars Vanessa Hudgens as Emily, an insurance worker specializing in covering regular people from the damage caused by crime-fighting superheroes. When Emily stands up to a specific hero, she becomes a bit of a cult hero amongst her co-workers. The series also stars Danny Pudi and Alan Tudyk and will be the first comedy outing from DC.

“Trial & Error” stars Nicholas D’Agosto as a young New York lawyer given the task of defending an eccentric “rollercizing” professor (Lithgow), who’s been accused of his wife’s murder. The series will also star Sherri Shepherd and Steven Boyer.

Both comedies join a developing new  lineup for NBC, which also includes “The Good Place,” “Taken,” and “Emerald City.” The full list of new series on the broadcast networks for next season is here.
