“New Girl” returns Tuesday night for its fifth season, which was pushed to January in part because of star Zooey Deschanel’s pregnancy (she’ll be absent from several episodes that filmed while she was on maternity leave).

It’s kicking off a revamped night of FOX comedy that also includes fall holdovers “Grandfathered” at 8:30 p.m. ET/PT and “The Grinder” at 9:30, with “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” moving from Sundays to take the 9 o’clock spot.

Tuesdays have been a rough night for FOX for a couple of seasons now, but “New Girl” has typically rated the (relative) best of the network’s offerings on the night. Can it keep its head above water this season as well?

Season 4 premiered to a 1.7 rating among adults 18-49 in September 2014; its first episode in January 2015 drew a 1.5, and for the season it averaged a 1.3 same-day rating.

Will it hit those numbers Tuesday? Vote in the poll below, and share your thoughts on the prospects for the other FOX comedies in the comments.
