Ricky Gervais will return as host of the Golden Globe Awards in 2016, despite insisting after his last time hosting that he’d never do it again.

The Hollywood Foreign Press Association announced Gervais’ return Monday on Twitter with a poster of Gervais’ backlit silhouette and the tagline “He’s back.”

Gervais hosted the Globes from 2010-12 and each time made the show his own with jokes that made fun of the awards-season machine and some of the stars in the room (which tended to play better with TV viewers than his live audience). Ratings for the awards were solid all three years, averaging around 17 million viewers.

Tina Fey and Amy Poehler have hosted each of the past three years after assuming hosting duties from Gervais; they helped the awards to a 10-year high (20.9 million viewers) in 2014. The Golden Globes will air live on NBC Jan. 10.
