The pile of shows to meet their end Friday only continues to grow.

NBC has officially canceled “Rise,” ahead of its first season finale next week. Created by Jason Katims, the series focused on one dedicated and inspiring teacher, played by Josh Radnor, who helps to rehabilitate a working-class high school’s drama department, and the students who take part in it.

In addition to Radnor, the series starred Rosie Perez, Rarmian Newton, Auli’i Cravalho, Marley Shelton, Damon J. Gillespie, Ted Sutherland, Taylor Richardson, Amy Forsyth, Casey W. Johnson, and Joe Tippett. It was produced by Katims, Jeffrey Seller, Flody Suarez, and Michelle Lee.

“Rise” premiered fairly strong with a 1.2 in adults 18-49 and 5.50 million viewers, but has experienced a steady decline in the ratings since then. It’s most recent episode scored a 0.7 live + same day rating, bringing its first season average up until this point to a 0.9 in the demographic.

“Rise” now joins “Great News,” “Taken” and “The Brave” as the NBC shows to have been canceled this week.
