FOX has given new life to “So You Think You Can Dance,” but with a twist: The show will now focus on kids. Think “Masterchef Junior,” but with dancing and Nigel Lythgoe instead of Gordon Ramsay.

The new season, officially called “So You Think You Can Dance: The Next Generation,” premieres May 30. The show will feature dancers ages 8-13 and pair each finalist with an “SYTYCD” all-star who will serve as a mentor and coach.

Lythgoe (who also executive produces), Paula Abdul and Jason Derulo will return as judges, and Cat Deeley will continue as host.

“By evolving the ‘So You Think You Can Dance’ format this season, we can showcase the very best junior dancers out there and open up the world of dance to a whole new generation,” Lythgoe says in a statement.
