“Supergirl” averaged a 1.7 same-day rating in adults 18-49 for CBS this season, with its final seven episodes (including a one-way crossover with “The Flash”) averaging a 1.4.

With its move to The CW next season, it’s very, very unlikely to hit either of those numbers. The CW simply doesn’t reach as many homes as CBS, for one thing, and given the show’s declines in the second half of the season, a big bounce-back doesn’t seem like it’s in the cards.

Still, CW president Mark Pedowitz expects “Supergirl” to “perform quite well for us.”

“We haven’t made any true projections [but] we believe it will be a little less than what occurred on CBS,” Pedowitz says. “We believe it will be a strong performer. We believe it may be one of our Top 3 performers in terms of ratings for next year.”

The three top-rated shows (same-day) on The CW this season are, like “Supergirl,” based on DC Comics characters. “The Flash” leads the network at 1.4, followed by “Arrow” at 1.0 and “Legends of Tomorrow” at 0.8.

That’s not a tremendously high bar for the show to reach, particularly since it’s already had a year of wider exposure. Anything short of a complete collapse will also be an upgrade for its Monday time period, which between “Crazy Ex-Girlfriend” and “Reign” has averaged a weak-even-for-The CW 0.3 this season.

So, in short, even if “Supergirl” loses half its 18-49 audience next season, The CW will be OK with it.
