FX and FXX have announce March premiere dates for three shows — returning series “The Americans” and “Archer” and new anthology series “Feud.”
“Feud: Bette and Joan” will be first out of the gate, debuting Sunday, March 5. It’s the first season of a planned anthology from executive producer Ryan Murphy chronicling well-known beefs in history. This one focuses on the rivalry between Golden Age Hollywood stars Bette Davis (Susan Sarandon) and Joan Crawford (Jessica Lange) on and off the set of their 1962 film “What Ever Happened to Baby Jane?”
The cast also includes Alfred Molina as director Robert Aldrich, Stanley Tucci as studio head Jack Warner, Judy Davis as gossip columnist Hedda Hopper, Kiernan Shipka as Davis’ daughter B.D., Jackie Hoffman as Crawford’s housekeeper and Alison Wright as Davis’ assistant. Catherine Zeta-Jones, Sarah Paulson, Kathy Bates and Dominic Burgess will guest-star.
Season 5 of “The Americans” follows on Tuesday, March 7, moving from Wednesdays where it’s aired previously. The next-to-last season of the show will pick up more or less where Season 4 ended, with the balance Philip (Matthew Rhys) and Elizabeth (Keri Russell) try to maintain between their work as KGB operatives and their seemingly normal outer life becoming increasingly tenuous.
“Archer” makes the jump from FX to FXX on Wednesday, April 5. The eighth season of the show finds private eye Sterling Archer (voiced by H. Jon Benjamin) in 1947 Los Angeles, where he’s trying to track down the person who murdered his partner. Aisha Tyler, Jessica Walter, Judy Greer and the rest of the show’s voice cast is set to return.
