NBC has officially put in a series order for the “Blacklist” spinoff, “The Blacklist: Redemption” for its 2016-17 season.

The spin-off series stars Famke Janssen as Scottie Hargrave, the leader of Grey Matters, a covert mercenary organization that specializes in solving problems that the government wouldn’t dare to touch. Joining forces with Ryan Eggold’s Tom Keen (aka Christopher Hargrave, Scottie’s son), the duo will work to solve problems in a dangerous world full of deadly criminals, while Tom also secretly works to learn more about his unknown past.

The series will be written and executive produced by Jon Bokenkamp, John Eisendrath, John Fox, and John Davis, and comes following the backdoor pilot for the show earlier this week, which gave “The Blacklist” an 8 percent increase over its previous ratings in the 18-49 demographic.
