ABC Family, soon to become Freeform, has renewed “The Fosters” for a fourth season.
The show, currently midway through its third season, has become a mainstay of the channel’s lineup. The first half of Season 3, which aired over the summer, averaged 2.1 million viewers (Live +3) and led its Monday time period in adults 18-49 and adults 18-34.
“We have so many more stories to tell about ‘The Fosters’ family — these incredible characters have come into our lives and touched so many,” Karey Burke, head of programming at ABC Family, says in a statement.
The second half of “The Fosters” Season 3 is set to premiere Jan. 25. Season 4 doesn’t have a date yet but presumably will follow the summer-winter pattern it has for the first three seasons.
It joins these shows that have been renewed for 2016 and beyond.
