“The Kominsky Method’s” recent winning streak continues, as today, Netflix has officially announced the renewal of the Michael Douglas and Alan Arkin-led comedy series for a second season.

The news comes not only two months after the show made its debut on the streaming platform last November, but just a few weeks after “The Kominsky Method” also won the Golden Globe for Best Comedy Series. The show’s second season will be comprised of eight episodes, like its first, with production set to begin later this month.

Created by Chuck Lorre, the series follows Douglas’ former successful actor turned acting coach, as he tries to help his best friend/agent (Arkin) cope with the recent loss of his wife. In addition to Arkin and Douglas, the show’s cast includes Sarah Baker, Nancy Travis, Danny DeVito, Jenna Lyng Adams, Emily Osment, and more.

Like all of Netflix’s shows, the viewing numbers and statistics for “The Kominsky Method” remain unavailable. However, the show was welcomed with mostly favorable reviews from critics when its made its debut last year, and has turned out to be yet another critically successful scripted venture for the streaming platform.

The first season of “The Kominsky Method” is available to stream on Netflix now.
