“The Mindy Project” will continue its second life as a streaming series.
Hulu has picked up a fifth season of the comedy, which ran for three years on FOX before moving to the service for Season 4 in 2015-16. The renewal was announced at Hulu’s upfront presentation on Wednesday.
“The Path” will also be returning for a second season. The drama about a religious cult starring Aaron Paul and Michelle Monaghan debuted in March.
Additionally, Hulu announced that it’s launching a documentary films unit, with the first project, from director Ron Howard, focusing on the early years of The Beatles. The service has also ordered a new election special from Triumph the Insult Comic Dog, aka Robert Smigel, to coincide with the November general election.
“The Mindy Project” and “The Path” join these shows that have been renewed for 2016-17 and beyond.
