NBC has renewed its singing competition “The Voice” for two additional cycles, taking it through Season 13 in fall 2017.

The network also says Gwen Stefani will return as one of the four coaches for the 12th cycle in the spring, joining Alicia Keys, Blake Shelton and Adam Levine. Miley Cyrus, who joined the show this fall, will return for the 13th cycle, with other coaches to be announced — presumably as contracts are locked down.

“We can’t wait to experience the unique chemistry and energy Gwen, Alicia, Blake and Adam will bring to Season 12,” NBC’s head of alternative and reality programming, Paul Telegdy, says in a statement. “With Miley returning for Season 13, we’re truly ecstatic about the unmatched musical know-how and talent coming together in our coming seasons.”

Through four weeks this fall, “The Voice” is averaging a 3.1 rating in adults 18-49 and 11.75 million viewers across both nights it airs. That’s a slight improvement on the spring 2016 season, and down a little from a combined 3.3 through the same time last fall.

DVR and on-demand viewing bumps the show’s ratings to a 4.2 in the 18-49 demographic and 14.7 million viewers

“The Voice” has been the No. 1 competition series on TV for the past several seasons, taking over the top spot from “American Idol.”
