“This is Us” will be staying on NBC for quite a few more years.

The network has officially renewed the beloved drama for three more seasons today, which will carry “This is Us” through to its sixth season. The news comes a little over a month after “This is Us” wrapped up its third year on the network.

The drama series is NBC’s fourteenth scripted renewal of the season. It now joins the previously-renewed “Chicago Med,” “Chicago Fire,” “Chicago P.D.,” “New Amsterdam,” “Manifest,” “Blindspot,” “Good Girls,” “Brooklyn Nine-Nine,” “Will & Grace,” “The Good Place,” “The Blacklist,” “Law & Order: SVU,” and “Superstore” on the network’s 2019-20 schedule.

The news today doesn’t come as much of a surprise, with the show’s renewal having been considered a near-certainty all season. Averaging a 2.0 live + same day rating among adults 18-49 this year, “This is Us” may have fallen from its previous season’s 3.1 average, but it was still NBC’s highest-rated scripted show this season by a considerable margin.

“In a television landscape with nearly 500 original scripted series, there are very few, if any, that have the critical and cultural impact of ‘This Is Us’  and we couldn’t be more proud to bring fans three more seasons of a show that so well represents the NBC brand,” said Lisa Katz and Tracey Pakosta, Presidents of Scripted Programming at NBC Entertainment. “A huge thank you and congratulations to our executive producers, cast and crew who reach new heights every week with the show’s inventive and compelling storytelling.”

The network says decisions are still yet to be made on “Abby’s,” “A.P. Bio,” “The Enemy Within,” and “The Village,” but stay tuned for updates whenever NBC decides to announce their fates.
