After writing the books that spawned one of the most popular film franchises of all time, “Twilight” creator, Stephanie Meyer, is now looking to bring her voice to the small screen.
Announced this afternoon, Starz has officially put in a straight-to-series order for “The Rook,” which will be executive produced by Meyer with Stephen Garrett signed on as showrunner. “The Rook” focuses on a young woman who wakes up in a London park with amnesia – surrounded by dead bodies, all wearing latex gloves – and is quickly pursued by mysterious paranormal adversaries, while simultaneously forced to grapple with her own extraordinary abilities. Based on Daniel O’Malley’s novel of the same name, “The Rook” is adapted and co-produced by Sam Holcroft and Al Muriel. In addition to Meyer, Garrett and Meghan Hibbett will also serve as executive producers on the supernatural series.
