One of the most criticall -acclaimed comedies on TV right now has been renewed for another season, FXX announced Wednesday.
Created and executive produced by Stephen Falk, “You’re the Worst” will return for a fourth season in 2017 on the network. The series, which is currently in the middle of its third season, has been enjoying better-than-usual ratings compared to last year, with the Season 3 premiere being the series’ most-watched telecast on FXX.
While the series has been holding steady in the weeks since the premiere, with its total viewers up +13% over its Season 2 average so far, a renewal never seemed like a sure thing, making this some welcome news for fans of the show.
“Expertly written, brilliantly acted, ‘You’re the Worst’ continues to be hilarious and excellent,” said Eric Schrier and Nick Grad, heads of original programming for FX Networks and FX Productions. “We’re excited to get Stephen and his team working on next season and thank everyone at ‘You’re the Worst’ for their outstanding work and the opportunity to keep producing great TV together.”
Falk adds, “It is a daily thrill to have ‘You’re the Worst’ in the same network family as ‘Archer,’ ‘Fargo,’ ‘American Crime Story,’ ‘The Americans,’ ‘It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia,’ ‘Atlanta,’ ‘Better Things,’ ‘Louie,’ etc., and while I am currently deep in post on Season 3 and so, so tired, you guys, I am overjoyed.”
“You’re the Worst” airs Wednesday nights on FXX.
