THE EARLY SHOW IS THE FASTEST GROWING MORNING NETWORK NEWSCAST,
INCREASING IN HOUSEHOLDS, VIEWERS AND ADULTS 25-54 FOR THE WEEK OF APRIL 20
THE EARLY SHOW (2.2/8, 2.97m) is the only network morning news broadcast to post increases in households and key demographics for the week of April 20, compared to the same week last year. The CBS broadcast narrowed the gap with ABC’s “Good Morning America” by nearly 400,000 viewers (21%) compared to the same week last year.
THE EARLY SHOW garnered 2.97m viewers for the week of April 20, a +10% increase compared to the same week last year (from 2.69m) while “GMA” declined -2% (4.46m from 4.55m).
In households, THE EARLY SHOW increased by +5% (2.2/8 from 2.1/7), while “GMA” decreased -6% (3.4/12 from 3.6/13), compared to the same period last year, narrowing the gap between the broadcasts by 20%. “Today” posted a decrease of -2% (4.2/15 from 4.3/15).
The CBS broadcast also narrowed the gap with “GMA” by 29% among adults 25-54, 36% among women 25-54 and 25% in women 18-49, compared to last year.
