ABC’s weekly Live + Same Day Adult 18-49 average is projected to increase 30% to a 1.0 rating in Live + 3 Day and build 38% to a 1.1 rating in Live + 7 Day.

During the week of August 17, 2015, ABC delivered 5 of the Top 20 broadcast shows in Adults 18-49: “Bachelor in Paradise – MON” – No. 8, “Bachelor in Paradise – SUN” – No. 11, “Modern Family-R” – No. 15, while “black-ish-R” and “America’s Funniest Home Videos-R” tied at No. 18.



ABC ranked as the No. 2 broadcaster on Monday night in Adults 18-49 (0.9/3-tie). ABC’s “Bachelor in Paradise” topped NBC’s “American Ninja Warrior” on the night to rank as Monday’s No. 1 broadcast TV show in Adults 18-34 and across all key Women (W18-34/W18-49/W25-54).


“Bachelor in Paradise” (8:00-9:01 p.m. – 5.2 million and 1.5/6 in AD18-49):

At 8:00 p.m., ABC’s “Bachelor in Paradise” was up for the 2nd straight Monday in Total Viewers (+2% – 5.2 million vs. 5.1 million) and held steady in Adults 18-49 (1.5/6), hitting a new season high in viewers and equaling a series high in young adults. The ABC unscripted series led its broadcast rivals in the hour by double digits with Adults 18-34 and all key Women demos (W18-34/W18-49/W25-54). 


·       “Bachelor in Paradise” was up from its year-ago 2-hour telecast on the night (5.1 million and 1.3/4 on 8/18/14) with Total Viewers (+2%) and Adults 18-49 (+15%).


“Bachelor in Paradise: After Paradise” (9:01-10:01 p.m. – 3.2 million and 0.7/2 in AD18-49):

From 9:01-10:01 p.m., ABC’s “Bachelor in Paradise: After Paradise” beat “Fox’s So You Think You Can Dance” for the first time in Total Viewers (+3% – 3.2 million vs. 3.1 million).



“Modern Family-R/black-ish-R” (9:00-10:00 p.m. – 3.5 million and 1.1/4 in AD18-49): 

At 9 o’clock, encores of ABC’s “Modern Family” and “black-ish” ranked No. 1 in the hour among Adults 18-49 (1.1/4), beating originals of NBC’s “Mr. Robinson” by 22% (0.9/3) and CBS’ “Extant” by 57% (0.7/3).


“Celebrity Wife Swap” (10:00-11:00 p.m. – 2.7 million and 0.9/3 in AD18-49): 

ABC’s “Celebrity Wife Swap” grew over its most-recent original (on 8/5/15) by 13% in Adults 18-49 (0.9/3 vs. 0.8/3), hitting an 8-week high and matching a 10-week high – since 6/24/15 and 6/10/15.


·       “Celebrity Wife Swap” continued to improve its 10 o’clock time period for ABC, up over original programming in the hour on the year-ago night (“Motive” on 8/20/14 = 0.8/3) by 13% in Adults 18-49.



“The Astronaut Wives Club” (8:00-9:00 p.m. – 3.8 million and 0.7/3 in AD18-49):

The finale of ABC’s “The Astronaut Wives Club” shot up over the prior week by 19% in Total Viewers (3.8 million vs. 3.2 million) and by 17% in Adults 18-49 (0.7/3 vs. 0.6/3) to deliver 3-week highs – since 7/30/15. In addition, the ABC summertime drama grew week to week by 25% in Women 18-49 and 25% in Women 25-54.


·       On average during its 10-episode run, “The Astronaut Wives Club” improved its 8 o’clock hour for ABC over original programming during the comparable weeks last summer (“Black Box”/”The Quest” = 3.9 million and 0.8/3) by 28% in Total Viewers and 25% in Adults 18-49.


“Mistresses” (9:00-10:00 p.m. – 3.3 million and 0.8/3 in AD18-49):

ABC’s “Mistresses” grew for the 2nd straight week in Total Viewers (+10% – 3.3 million vs. 3.0 million) and Adults 18-49 (+14% – 0.8/3 vs. 0.7/3) to deliver its best performance in more than 1 month – since 7/9/15 and 7/16/15, respectively. In addition, “Mistresses” soared week to week by 50% in Women 18-34 to a new season high.


“Rookie Blue” (10:00-11:00 p.m. – 3.6 million and 0.6/2 in AD18-49):

ABC’s “Rookie Blue” was up for the 2nd week in a row in Total Viewers (+9% – 3.6 million vs. 3.3 million) to attract its largest overall audience in 3 weeks (since 7/30/15), while holding steady in Adults 18-49 (0.6/2).



Opposite Fox’s NFL preseason game (St. Louis-Tennessee), ABC was the No. 2 broadcaster on Sunday in Adults 18-49 (1.0/4-tied w/ CBS) equaling a 4-week high on the night – since 7/26/15.


“Bachelor in Paradise” (8:00-10:01 p.m. – 4.2 million and 1.3/4 in AD18-49): 

Facing original competition from Fox’s NFL coverage and CBS’ “Big Brother,” ABC’s “Bachelor in Paradise” was up for the 3rd straight Sunday in Total Viewers (+5% – 4.2 million vs. 4.0 million) and held even in Adults 18-49 (1.3/4) to deliver its most-watched telecast on the night and equal a Sunday high in young adults.  The ABC unscripted series was No. 1 in its 2-hour slot for the 2nd week in a row among the broadcasters across all key Women demos (W18-34/W18-49/W25-54).


·       “Bachelor in Paradise” continued to grow its 2-hour time period by double digits year to year for ABC, jumping 63% in Adults 18-49 from the year-ago night with original programming (“Wipeout”/”Rising Star” = 0.8/3 on 8/24/14).


·       After 3 days of TV playback, last Sunday’s telecast of “Bachelor in Paradise” grew to a 1.9 rating among Adults 18-49 (up from a 1.3 in L+SD), coming within 1-tenth of its series high and growing for the 3rd straight week (+6%) to score a season high on the night in the L+3 numbers.


“Katrina: 10 Years After the Storm with Robin Roberts” (10:01-11:00 p.m. – 3.8 million and 0.6/2 in AD18-49): 

In the 10 o’clock hour, “Katrina: 10 Years After the Storm with Robin Roberts” boosted its slot week to week by 15% among Total Viewers (3.8 million vs. 3.3 million), taking 2nd among the broadcasters and drawing ABC’s biggest non-sports audience in the time period this summer.


·       The ABC special improved its hour year to year by 9% in Total Viewers (“Castle-R” on 8/24/14 = 3.5 million).
