ABC’s weekly Live + Same Day Adult 18-49 average is projected to increase 30% to a 1.17 rating in Live + 3 Day and build 38% to a 1.24 rating in Live + 7 Day.

During the week of May 25, 2015, ABC finished No. 2 among Adults 18-49 (0.9/3-tie). Continuing to deliver strong competitive momentum since January, ABC ranked No. 1 (8 times) or No. 2 (8 times) in the key young adult sales demo on 16 of the past 18 complete weeks.

Rankings: ABC aired 7 of the Top 20 non-sports TV programs in Adults 18-49, with “The Bachelorette” and “What Would You Do? finishing in the Top 10: “The Bachelorette” – No. 5, “What Would You Do?” – No. 9, while “Celebrity Wife Swap,” “500 Questions SP-5/25,” “500 Questions SP-5/26,” “500 Questions SP-5/28” and “Modern Family” tied at No. 17. ABC’s “What Would You Do?” season premiere, which opened at a 1-year high, also qualified as the week’s No. 1 newsmagazine in Adults 18-49.



With “500 Questions” and “The Bachelorette,” ABC ranked as the No. 1 broadcaster on Memorial Day Monday night in Total Viewers (5.3 million) and was a strong second in Adults 18-49 (1.5/5 vs. 1.6/5-NBC). The Net ranked No. 1 overall on Monday in all key target Women (W18-34/W18-49/W25-54).



“500 Questions” (8:00-9:00 p.m. – 5.2 million and 1.1/4 in AD18-49):

From 8:00-9:00 p.m., night 4 of ABC’s “500 Questions” built from night 3 by 30% in Total Viewers (5.2 million vs. 4.0 million) and by 38% in Adults 18-49 (1.1/4 vs. 0.8/4), drawing its biggest audience yet and its 2nd highest young adult number. The new show took 2nd in its time period among the broadcasters to the opening hour of NBC’s 2-hour premiere of “American Ninja Warrior” in Adults 18-49. 500 Questions” built from its first half-hour to its second half-hour in viewers (+6% – 5.1 million to 5.4 million) and young adults (+9% – 1.1/4 to 1.2/4).


“The Bachelorette” (9:00-11:00 p.m. – 5.4 million and 1.6/5 in AD18-49):

From 9:00-11:00 p.m., “The Bachelorette” ranked No. 1 against the non-sports competition in its 2-hour time period for the 2nd week in a row in Adults 18-49 (1.6/5), Adults 18-34 and key Women (W18-34/W18-49). It was the No. 1 TV series of the night for the 2nd week running in Adults 18-34 (1.4/5), Women 18-34 (2.2/8) and Women 18-49 (2.4/7). During the 10 o’clock hour, ABC’s “The Bachelorette” beat NBC’s series premiere of “The Island” head to head by 34% in Total Viewers (5.1 million vs. 3.8 million) and by 25% in Adults 18-49 (1.5/5 vs. 1.2/4). 


·       “The Bachelorette” was up year to year in Adults 18-34 (+17% – 1.4/5 vs. 1.2/5) and steady with its year-ago Memorial Day telecast in Adults 18-49 (on 5/26/14).


·       In viewers and young adults, the show generated ABC’s best summer numbers in the 2-hour time period since last July – since 7/28/14.



“500 Questions” (8:00-9:00 p.m. – 4.7 million and 1.1/4 in AD18-49):

From 8:00-9:00 p.m., night 5 of ABC’s “500 Questions” held steady with night 4 on Monday among Adults 18-49 (1.1/4) to tie the show’s 2nd-highest rating. Against NBC’s “America’s Got Talent” opener, ABC’s “500 Questions” beat Fox’s premiere of “Are You Smarter than a 5th Grader?” by 1.4 million viewers (4.7 million vs. 3.3 million) and by 38% in Adults 18-49 (1.1/4 vs. 0.8/3).  


“Extreme Weight Loss” (9:00-11:00 p.m. – 2.9 million and 0.9/3 in AD18-49):

Opposite season premiere/debut programming on NBC (“America’s Got Talent” premiere/”I Can Do That” debut) from 9:00-11:00 p.m., the premiere of “Extreme Weight Loss” generated ABC’s best summer numbers in the 2-hour time period with regular programing since last July in Total Viewers (2.9 million) and Adults 18-49 (0.9/3) – since 7/29/14. The ABC unscripted series gained viewers (+15%) and young adults (+13%) from its first hour to its second hour.


“500 Questions” (8:00-9:00 p.m. – 4.9 million and 1.0/4 in AD18-49): 

At 8:00 p.m., ABC’s “500 Questions” took second in the hour to CBS’ debut of “The Briefcase” in Total Viewers, outdrawing Fox’s veteran “MasterChef” for the 2nd week in a row (+4% – 4.9 million vs. 4.7 million). The new ABC quiz show also ranked as the No. 2 broadcast show in its slot with Men 18-34 (tie).  


“Celebrity Wife Swap” (10:00-11:00 p.m. – 3.4 million and 1.1/4 in AD18-49): 

During the 10 o’clock hour, ABC’s “Celebrity Wife Swap” ranked No. 1 against its broadcast competition in Adults 18-49 (1.1/4-tie). The ABC unscripted series was up from its week-ago season premiere in Total Viewers (+6% – 3.4 million vs. 3.2 million) and Adults 18-49 (+10% – 1.1/4 vs. 1.0/3), tying its best young adult number since last June – since 6/24/14. In addition, “Celebrity Wife Swap” continued to improve its hour year to year for ABC, up by 22% in Adults 18-49 from the same night last year with original programming (“Motive” on 5/28/14= 0.9/3).



“500 Questions” (8:00-10:00 p.m. – 5.0 million and 1.1/4 in AD18-49): 

From 8:00-10:00 p.m., the season finale of ABC’s “500 Questions” built over the prior night in Total Viewers (+2% – 5.0 million vs. 4.9 million) and Adults 18-49 (+10% – 1.1/4 vs. 1.0/4), matching the new show’s 2nd-highest young adult number. In addition, the show shot up 75% night to night in Teens 12-17 to equal a series best500 Questions” was also up over its week-ago Thursday airing in viewers (+9%) and young adults (+10%).


·       The ABC unscripted show built 20% from its first half-hour to its final half-hour in Adults 18-49, ranking as the No. 1 broadcast show from 9:30-10:00 p.m. (1.2/4-tied w/”Wayward Pines”). In addition, “500 Questions” tied NBC’s high-profile 2-hour “Aquarius” debut on the night in Adults 18-49 (1.1/4 from 9:00-11:00 p.m.).


·       On its finale, “500 Questions” delivered ABC’s top non-sports summer performance in the 2-hour time slot in 2 years with Total Viewers and Adults 18-49 – since 5/30/13.


“Jimmy Kimmel Live Presents The President-R” (10:00-11:00 p.m. – 2.7 million and 0.6/2 in AD18-49): 

During the 10:00 p.m. hour, ABC’s encore “Jimmy Kimmel Live Presents The President” (originally aired in late-night on 3/12/15) drew 2.7 million viewers for an 8% increase over the prior week’s “Kimmel” special in the hour.   



ABC ranked No. 1 on Friday in Adults 18-49 (1.1/4), finishing as the top-rated broadcast net on the night for the 8th consecutive week.

·       ABC’s season premiere of “What Would You Do?” at 9:00 p.m. was the night’s No. 1 TV show in Adults 18-49 (1.3/5), matching its highest rating in nearly 1 year – since 6/6/14.
