ABC’s “Extreme Weight Loss” Grows to Best-Since-Premiere Results
Opposite Fox’s MLB All-Star Game
“Extreme Weight Loss” (8:00-10:00 p.m. – 2.7 million and 0.8/3 in AD18-49):
Despite airing against Fox’s MLB All-Star Game coverage, ABC’s “Extreme Weight Loss” spiked over the prior week by 29% in Total Viewers (2.7 million vs. 2.1 million) and 33% in Adults 18-49 (0.8/3 vs. 0.6/2) to deliver its best numbers since its season premiere 7 weeks ago – since 5/26/15. “Extreme Weight Loss” shot up from its first hour to its second hour in both Viewers (+30%) and young adults (+50%).
A note about DVR penetration: DVR penetration in the Nielsen sample is currently at 49% in U.S. TV Homes. More viewers are watching shows on their own timetables, which are increasingly not reflected in the overnight Live + Same Day numbers. As a result, the Live + 7 Day ratings are the most accurate measure to gauge the size of the TV audience.
