Anderson Cooper and Kathy Griffin are back to Co-Host CNN’s New Year’s Eve Coverage
Live from Times Square Beginning at 9 p.m. ET
Anderson Cooper and Kathy Griffin will co-host CNN’s coverage of New Year’s Eve celebrations on Wednesday, Dec. 31, from 9 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. (ET). Back for their 8th consecutive year, Cooper and Griffin will ring in the New Year live from NYC’s Time Square for CNN’s “New Year’s Eve Live with Anderson Cooper and Kathy Griffin.”
Asked about how he is preparing for the evening, Cooper remarked, “I’ve given up asking Kathy to watch what she says. There’s no point. I’m just hoping for the best.”
Kathy Griffin added, “I’m sorry to report Anderson Cooper will not be my attaché for New Year’s Eve this year on CNN. His vulgarity and crossing the line humor has proven to be too much for my virgin ears.”
Cooper and Griffin will appear along with CNN correspondents who will provide reports from celebrations across the country and around the world, including London, Moscow, Beijing and Calcutta. Brooke Baldwin and Don Lemon will be live from New Orleans LA, Pamela Brown from Memphis, TN, Gary Tuchman will cover the Crab Drop in Easton,MD and Richard Quest will be on a cruise ship off the Bahamas.
Leading up to “New Year’s Eve Live with Anderson Cooper and Kathy Griffin” will be “All the Best, All the Worst 2014,” an Anderson Cooper 360° special airing at 8 p.m. (ET). The one hour special hosted by Tom Foreman will count down to 2015 by shining a spotlight on the highlights and lowlights of the past twelve months in politics, pop culture, the economy, and entertainment.
At 12:30 a.m (ET), Anderson and Kathy will hand off to Brooke Baldwin and Don Lemon who will be counting down as the Central Time Zone rings in the new year.
