Network Reports Double Digit Growth Over Apertura 2014
Season Average In Key Demos
Los Angeles, CA – August 5, 2015 – Azteca America ranked ahead of its competitors in primetime among key demos on Friday, July 31 with its broadcast of the Liga MX Apertura Tournament match, Xolos de Tijuana vs. Dorados de Sinaloa, delivering an average of 389,000 total viewers and 223,000 adults 18-49, according to Nielsen. The network delivered a larger primetime audience than both MundoFOX and Estrella TV and outperformed key programs on UniMas, Univision and Telemundo among men 18-34.
The broadcast delivered double-digit growth over the 2014 Apertura season average in key demos, including a +61% increase among total viewers, a +57% increase among adults 18-49 and a +74% increase among men 18-49. It also delivered double-digit growth over Apertura’s 2014 “Friday Night Futbol” ratings, including a +36% increase among total viewers, a +30% increase among adults 18-49 and a +42% increase among men 18-49.
Locally, Azteca ranked #1 in the Los Angeles market, regardless of language, among men 18-49, men 18-34 and men 25-54.
Azteca is the exclusive broadcast network of two weekly primetime matches every week of the season, “Viernes Futbolero” and “Sábado Fútbol Estelar.” Azteca features all home games for Santos Laguna and Xolos de Tijuana in primetime on Fridays, while Monarcas Morelia and Club Atlas home matches air on Saturdays.
