“CBS Sunday Morning” Posts Best Second Quarter Delivery with Viewers Since The 1987 Advent of People Meters
CBS SUNDAY MORNING WITH CHARLES OSGOOD finished the second quarter of 2015 as the #1 Sunday morning news program with adults 25-54 and viewers, according to Nielsen most current ratings. The broadcast generated its best viewer delivery for a second quarter since the 1987 advent of people meters.
For the quarter, CBS SUNDAY MORNING delivered 5.77 million viewers and a 1.3/08 with adults 25-54, the demographic that matters most to those who advertise in news. Compared to second quarter 2014, CBS SUNDAY MORNING was up +1% in viewers (from 5.73m).
CBS SUNDAY MORNING finished the second quarter on June 28. It was the #1 Sunday morning news program, delivering 5.40 million viewers and a 1.1/07 with adults 25-54, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings. Compared to the same day last year, CBS SUNDAY MORNING was up +17% in viewers (from 4.60m) and even in adults 25-54. Television year-to-date, CBS SUNDAY MORNING was up +1% in viewers (6.01m from 5.92m) compared to last year.
Lee Cowan anchored Sunday’s broadcast, which featured Martha Teichner’s look at the impact of the Supreme Court’s ruling on same-sex marriage; Anna Werner’s update on the New York prison escapees; Faith Salie’s segment on the popularity of tattoos; Serena Altschul’s profile of chef Ina Garten; Cowan’s piece on fireflies; Vanita Nair’s report on physically moving homes; Mo Rocca’s look at how Sen.
