CNN ORIGINAL SERIES’ ANTHONY BOURDAIN PARTS UNKNOWN and HIGH PROFITS RANK #1 IN KEY DEMOS
BOURDAIN HAS SECOND HIGHEST SEASON PREMIERE
On a highly competitive night, CNN Original Series’ Anthony Bourdain Parts Unknown and High Profits each won their respective time periods (9-10pm ET and 10-11pm ET, respectively) among cable news on Sunday in both the 25-54 demo rating, and younger viewers 18-34, with each program outperforming the combined delivery of Fox News and MSNBC in the latter demo.
Following are the highlights:
Anthony Bourdain Parts Unknown (ABPU):
— ABPU, which launched its fifth season on Sunday, April 26 at 9pm ET with the “Korea” episode, delivered 301k P25-54, besting Fox News by +77% and MSNBC by +66%; the premiere also drew 128K in P18-34 outperforming the combined total of Fox News(13K) and MSNBC (81K).
— “Korea” ranks as the second highest-rated season premiere among the 25-54 demo rating (season three premiere “Punjab” delivered 325k).
— Of the 19 CNN Original Series season premieres to-date*, “Korea” ranks as the third highest-rated in P18-34 (after the Somebody’s Gotta Do It Season 1 premiere and the High Profits Season 1 premiere).
— High Profits, which aired its second episode on Sunday, April 26, ranked # 1 across cable news in the 10pm hour among the key demo 25-54 (184K) and younger viewers 18-34 (77K).
— Among younger viewers (18-34), High Profits outperformed the combined delivery of FNC (12k) and MSNBC (51k).
