CBS News’ “Face the Nation with Bob Schieffer”

Finishes First in Viewers and Adults 25-54 on April 19

CBS News FACE THE NATION is first in viewers (3.19m) and first in adults 25-54 (0.8/04) – the demographic most important to those who advertise in news according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for April 19.  FACE THE NATION beat its closest competitor by half a million viewers. Editor’s Note: FACE THE NATION’s second half-hour was broadcast contiguously across 76.3% of the CBS affiliates. 

          Season-to-date, the CBS broadcast is up +4% in viewers (3.45m from 3.32m) and even in adults 25-54 (0.8/04) and is the #1 Sunday morning public affairs program.


The April 19 broadcast featured interviews with Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL), Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV), and former Gov. Martin O’Malley (D-MD). FACE THE NATION’s panel of analysts included David Catanese of U.S. News and World Report, April Ryan of American Urban Radio Network, Dana Milbank of The Washington Post, CBS News Congressional Correspondent Nancy Cordes, and CBS News’ John Dickerson. Mary Hager is the Executive Producer of the Emmy-award winning FACE THE NATION, one of the longest-running news programs in the history of television.
