LEGENDARY AND DAYTIME EMMY® AWARD WINNING ACTRESS GENIE FRANCIS
TO RETURN TO ABC’S “GENERAL HOSPITAL”
Genie Francis, the legendary and Daytime Emmy® Award-winning actress, will return to ABC’s “General Hospital” as beloved character Laura Spencer, it was announced today by Frank Valentini, Executive Producer, “General Hospital.”
“Genie is a part of our GH family and the door has always been open for her to return when the timing and story are right,” said Valentini. “Lucky for us, the stars have aligned and we are thrilled to welcome Genie back home.”
Ms. Francis received a Daytime Emmy Award in 2007 for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series for the role of “GH’s” Laura.
“General Hospital,” which celebrated its 52nd anniversary on April 1, 2015, is the longest running American soap opera currently in production and the longest running scripted drama on television currently in production. “General Hospital” has received the prestigious Emmy Award for Outstanding Daytime Drama a record eleven times. “General Hospital” was created by Frank and Doris Hursley. Frank Valentini is the executive producer and Ron Carlivati is the head writer. “General Hospital” airs weekdays on the ABC Television Network.
