Late-Night Results for Week 5:

  • “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” has dominated the late-night ratings week of Oct. 27-31 with wins on five of five nights of the week versus the time period’s ABC and CBS competition in both adults 18-49 and total viewers.

  • At 12:35 a.m. ET, “Late Night with Seth Meyers” beat its time-slot competition in all key measures and also topped CBS’s “Late Show with David Letterman” in adults 18-49 (with a 0.48 rating vs. a 0.44) despite starting an hour later.

  • Fallon’s 0.97 rating for the week generated a +52% advantage over ABC’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live” (0.64) and a +120% margin over CBS’s “Late Show with David Letterman” (0.44).  Fallon beat Letterman and Kimmel for the week in every key ratings category – adults, men and women 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54, plus total viewers.

  • Meyers’ margin over CBS’s “Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson” (0.27) was +78% in adults 18-49.  “Meyers” outdelivered ABC’s “Nightline” in their head-to-head half-hour by a +33% margin (5.3 vs. 4.0 from 12:30-1 a.m. ET).

  • A 1:35 a.m. ET, “Last Call with Carson Daly” (0.30 in 18-49 rating) equaled a four-week high in adult 18-49 rating (best since the week of Sept. 29-Oct. 3, 0.34).  “Last Call” outrated CBS’s Ferguson (0.27) despite starting an hour later.

  • Ratings reflect “live plus same day” data from Nielsen Media Research unless otherwise noted.  Season-to-date figures are averages of “live plus seven day” figures except for the two most recent weeks, which are “live plus same day.”
